Sacred Journeys Massage and Wellness Center

 About Us

People often ask how I came up with Sacred Journeys. I believe this life is a journey and part of our journey is to travel the road to wellness. Wellness can encompass all aspects of health: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. We are all traveling this path together, learning and experiencing as we go.

I have always had a love of helping others. I attended S.H.I. Integrative Medical Massage School in Dayton and obtained my license in massage therapy by the State Medical Board of Ohio in August of 2003. I am also nationally certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork.

I have completed numerous continuing education courses that have enhanced my career, including hot stone therapy, chair massage, medicinal aromatherapy, integrative myoneural therapy, reflexology, and many more. In addition to massage, I am a student of Healing Touch Level III by the Colorado Center for Healing Touch and have completed three levels in Reiki.

Working with the physical body, as well as the energetic (mental/emotional), can bring one into complete balance. My intention is to provide services and tools to assist your everyday well-being. It is truly an honor to have the opportunity to be of service in this beautiful and blessed lifetime!

"I have been to Amanda for hot stone massages as well as regular massages and she is the best!  I wish I would have found her sooner because she is by far the best massage therapist I have been to.  She takes the time to listen to you and your body and I always leave feeling both rested and energized... I don't know how that happens, but it does every time!"

Jane MullinsSacred Voices is my addition to Sacred Journeys Massage & Wellness Center. Growing up, I was a quiet and observant child. In fact, I didn't start talking until I was four years old. Though through testing they found no speech impairments, I still grew up somewhat insecure in speaking situations until I found my own inner voice. Those non-speaking years must have been glorious years to have needs manifested through silence. I instinctively knew that I was different and felt that I had something important to do in life. I have a Bachelors of Science and a Masters in Education from Wright State University. I recently retired from teaching, thinking that must have been my legacy. It has only been within the past couple of years that I have rekindled that joy and peace in my life. Now, I want to share what I have learned with others.

Reiki Master since 1997, I also incorporate practices of Healing Touch Level I and Basic Kolaimni. I trained and certified through Julianne Bien, founder of Spectrahue Light & Sound, Inc. in Color Light Harmonies: Frequency, Geometry and Form. My mentor is Tiffany Tatum. Sonic Activation and Channel for the Goddessence, brought forth a remembrance of my life's purpose with activation of sound healing through voice vibrations. Kathy Landry, a Professional Intuitive, Angel Clairaudient, and Composer, hosted workshops that have allowed my energy work to take on a new level of intuitiveness and channeling. Medicinal Aromatherapy Certification Level I through Wisdom of the Earth Essences (Sam Escobedo & Dana Simmons) has offered me a working relationship with the plants and herbs of Mother Earth to promote an induced fusion of immunity and well-being to our systems as had been intended with the placement of these wonderful healers. EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) energy medicine and body tapping is also in my repertoire.

With the global traveling to Sacred Sites (Sedona, Peru, Egypt, England, France, Spain, Ireland) over the last four years, I have been privileged to participate and receive through ceremonies/initiations many activations and downloads. I have connected the ancient healing forms of Reiki and Color Light Therapy into my practice. With the help of teachers I have found along the way, I am now also hosting and conducting retreats for women to return to their spiritual calling.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, being with nature, exercising the body, mind and spirit, traveling, playing with the crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls, drumming, my voice, and spending time with family. Each day brings new gifts that allow me to integrate into the rhythm and flow of a joyous, evolving life.

"Jane's work with Reiki and Color Light Therapy have been helpful in reducing my pain and increasing my mobility.  I am astounded by the time and dedication Jane gives to each of her patients, and I feel like the treatments I receive are tailored to my exact needs!"

Rod Mullins, Artist and Potter

Rod Mullins of Spinning Wheels Artistry, is a self-taught artist who pulls from his observations and inner wisdom. He has been creating pottery for twelve years, perfecting a technique learned originally from a Native American potter. He began working with copper to make attunement bells and meditation pyramids a couple years ago and recently started shipping them across the U.S.

His most recent venture has been making drums after a beginner's class that really resonated with him. He found a deep connection with the animal hides and the ties that bind them. He then started creating five- and six-point stars, thus employing the sacred geometry of the energy of the hide. He incorporates elements found in nature, such as driftwood, bone, and rocks in his designs.

In his spare time, he tends to the grounds of the Center and plays Native American flutes, the didgeridoo, guitar and harmonica.

"This 'down-to-earth' artist never ceases to amaze me.  I have several of his pieces from the Native American pottery displayed in my living room, a Nature Spirit leaf piece that welcomes people as the enter my home, to a Faces of the Soul piece that I have over my bed watching over me as I sleep... I always look forward to see what he manifests next!" ~A.A.  Vandalia, OH

Sacred Journeys Massage & Wellness CenterSacred Journeys is situated on about five acres of gently rolling land. It has an energy that speaks of a deep peace and healing. Many comment they feel this stillness as soon as they pull onto the land.

The property backs up to Wolf Creek and is surrounded with wonderful large trees and sweet honeysuckle bushes; a haven for deer, fox, other small animals and an amazing array of birds. The pond provides the water element and is home to a host of frogs, turtles, blue heron and fish.

The first addition to the property was a half mile walking track that is shaped lie a serpent with a loop. Next came the medicine wheel with stones from the creek and from stones collected over the years from around the United States. A labyrinth with a double helix inside a pyramid mirrors the row of pine trees to the north.

This year, when Sam Escobedo, a shaman from Arizona visited, the last thing he shared with Jane was that the land was desiring a name. Listening to her spirit guides, the name Shambhala came, which incorporates the heart chakra and the symbol for the mind, thus completing the trinity of body, spirit, and mind. We are truly blessed to be the caretakers of this mystical, magical place.

"Our experience to Sacred Journeys was a beautifully welcomed one.  From our first step out of the car to our goodbyes, the experience felt like home.  The land has a sacredness to it that when one walks it, you can feel the earth connection through your feet and in your bones.  You can't help but want to stay with the sacred medicine wheel which was alive and full of ancient wisdom.  The labyrinth in its geometric design has a lot to offer as you walk through the sacred lines.  The center itself has a peaceful living space that you feel safe and honored to do any healing you have come to this blessed place for.  The bodywork we received was intuitive and excellent, as well as the hospitality from Amanda, Jane, & Rod, was second to none.  It felt like time had stopped and I had nowhere to be but at this one place to take care of myself.
